Jack Wilshere and Erik Lamela were reportedly part of a ‘brawl’ after the final whistle on Saturday.

According to the Daily Mail, Jack and Lamela ‘brawled’ after Spurs’ 1-0 win over Arsenal at Wembley.

But it seems the outlet’s definition of ‘brawl’ is a bit different to what it actually means: a noisy, rough, uncontrolled fight.

What actually appeared to happen was Lamela, who had previously been handed a yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor for a late challenge on Jack, approached the 26-year-old after the final whistle and laughed in his direction.

Jack being Jack, tried to get at the Spurs winger but was held back by Kieran Trippier and Shkodran Mustafi.

That’s all that happened.

The Metro, as well as the Mail, claim you can clearly see Lamela tell Jack “f**k you, p****!” earlier in the match but honestly it’s hard to tell from the footage posted online by a Spurs fan.

If you think that’s what the 25-year-old is saying, it looks like he is, and I have no doubt that words were exchanged. What those were, though, it’s hard to say for sure.

All that seems to have happened was tensions overran after the final whistle – it was a North London Derby for goodness sake – but they were quickly snuffed out before it actually kicked off.

Not a ‘brawl’ in sight.
