Arsenal’s Dutch forward, Vivianne Miedema, has been ruled out until at least 8th March with a tibia problem.

The 21-year-old, who signed for Arsenal in May, has four goals in her seven league games for the club after joining from Bayern Munich.

Arsenal are saying nothing about the injury and have not yet replied to an email requesting further information, however, Miedema has been excluded from the Dutch squad for the Algarve Cup that will take place between 28th February and 8th March.

Extensive digging revealed only that she has a tibia problem, although no information was given beyond that.

Miedema was not included in the Arsenal squad for their game against Yeovil Town on 11 February after starting the previous game against Liverpool. She also missed out on Arsenal’s most recent game – the 1-0 win over Millwall.

This would indicate that the injury happened as a result of something either during the Liverpool game (although she was able to play the full 90) or in training between the Liverpool game and the match against Yeovil.

A tibia injury could be any number of things and without more information it is impossible to know long she is likely to be sidelined.
