Eddie Nketiah has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January following his brace against Manchester United.

Nketiah has been in excellent form for the Arsenal u23s this season.

He helped them continue their impressive run of form by scoring twice in a 4-0 victory over Manchester United last month.

His fine performances have been recognised by the Premier League, who have listed in them in their nominees for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The players are selected by the Premier League Football Development panel after club managers selected the best performers from each of their games during the month.

Games in the Premier League 2, Premier League Cup, International Cup, EFL Trophy and even first team appearances are all considered.

The 18-year-old is up against Stoke City’s Tyrese Campbell, Reading’s Ryan East and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The winner will be announced on Friday, February the 16th.

Unfortunately, it seems this award is decided by panel and not by vote. Otherwise, Nketiah would surely win.

While he waits the result, Nketiah is continuing his good form.

He netted a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Everton on Monday.
