Beth Mead and Danielle Carter both managed to score braces during their 4-0 victory over Yeovil on Sunday afternoon.

Despite Arsenal being the dominant team throughout the first half against Yeovil Town Ladies, it took 37 minutes before Carter registered the first goal of the game.

After that, it didn’t take long for Joe Montemurro’s side to put the match to bed.

Not long after the break, Mead doubled Arsenal’s lead at Meadow Park.

Jordan Nobbs and Carter combined well, with both women almost scoring 10 minutes later.

Carter found the back of the net for the second time on the 70th minute, 14 minutes before Mead also scored her second as Nobbs fired in a free kick.

The three points mean Arsenal keep pressure on FA WSL leaders Manchester City and Chelsea in second place.

Although it’s unlikely that Montemurro’s side will catch up with either, they still need to remain competitive and such an emphatic win will be great for morale.

Arsenal next face Millwall in the FA Women’s Cup on Sunday, also at Meadow Park, which should give them an advantage.

Yeovil remain bottle of the FA WSL table. They’ve failed to win a single point this season and it’s not looking good for them.
