After Arsenal lost 2-1 at home to Östersunds FK on Thursday night, it’s probably fair to say that Gooners aren’t expecting much from the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.

A 4-2 victory on aggregate wasn’t much consolation for Arsenal fans after they were defeated 2-1 by Östersunds FK, a side that finished fifth in the Swedish league last year, at the Emirates this week.

With City to face at Wembley in the League Cup final on Sunday, it doesn’t matter how many stars Arsene Wenger apparently rested during the Europa League clash, Arsenal could get well and truly thumped.

Pep Guardiola’s side have only lost three times over all competitions this season. And although one of those times was against Wigan in the FA Cup last weekend, Gooners have every reason to feel nervous going into the final.

While Arsenal fans aren’t expecting much in the way of a positive results, there are other things we can ‘look forward’ to.

1. Arsenal’s defence will let someone run past them

I can’t wait to see Kevin de Bruyne go skipping past our defence as if they’ve not even seen him.

2. De Bruyne will be amazing

The 26-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided 19 assists and the season isn’t even over yet.

3. Pep to overreact

He loves it, doesn’t he?

4. Sergio Aguero will start a fight

Apparently that’s his thing now.

5. Aguero, who shouldn’t be playing, to have an Agueroooooooo moment

In 12 games against Arsenal, he’s scored seven goals.

6. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s price tag

Did you KNOW he cost Arsenal £56m? That’s the most Arsenal have EVER spent on one player.

Expect this to consistently get brought up by the commentators until he’s scored a hat-trick.

7. Lacazette has been REPLACED

If the commentators mention Laca at all, I bet it’ll have nothing to do with his actual injury, that will be an afterthought. They’re more likely to talk about how terrible he’s been – an exaggeration of course.

8. Where is he?

(IAN KINGTON/AFP/Getty Images)

Either that or they’ll forget he’s had knee surgery and assume he’s been completely dropped for the squad.

9. Granit Xhaka will lose his man

The midfielder has made three errors that have led to goals in the Premier League alone this season.

10. City will dominate and we’ll all have heart attacks

There’s no way I can see Arsenal getting a foothold in the game if we approach it in the same way we did the Spurs clash.

11. Nacho Monreal hattrick

The Spaniard has scored three times since he returned from injury against Crystal Palace. Plus he found the back of the net in the FA Cup semi-final against City last season.

We might as well dream big.

12. Welbeck scoring with his ankle

We might be a tad optimistic with this one

13. Or ‘assist’

(IAN KINGTON/AFP/Getty Images)

Welbz has this crazy talent of being able to provide as assist simply by missing the goal himself. All done on purpose of course…

14. Aaron Ramsey to score

The man loves to score in cup finals at Wembley.

16. VAR to screw us over

After most Arsenal fans wanting VAR due to the amount of decisions that go against us, it only makes sense that it works against us in a cup final.

17. David Ospina dropping the ball in his own net

We’ve been too nice about him recently, it’s bound to happen.

18. Mention of downward spiral

As if Arsenal fans haven’t been paying attention.

19. Mention of Spurs

(IAN KINGTON/AFP/Getty Images)

Have you seen how much better they are compared to Arsenal now? What a team. And how handsome is that Mauricio Pochettino? It doesn’t matter that they have nothing to do with this match.

20. Mention of Wenger leaving

Is must be time? Fan unrest yada yada.

21. Mikel Arteta sadness

We miss him.

The man’s too sweet to celebrate against his old team.

23. Arsenal to concede on the counter
