Arsenal fans heaped praise on the u18s, after the club Twitter account posted a video of Josh Benson’s strike in the weekend’s 6-2 win over Reading.

After Saturday’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur, the Arsenal account went completely silent for almost two full days.

Clearly the fans didn’t want to hear any more excuses, and weren’t in the mood for positive news.

Eventually though, the club broke their silence with a video from the u18s 13th unbeaten match in a row.

Central midfielder Josh Benson, 18, picked up the ball outside the box and fired low into the bottom corner.

It was their third goal in the opening 16 minutes, in stark contrast to the senior side’s failure to score:

Clearly Arsenal fans enjoyed watching the strike, but they weren’t ready to forget the first-team’s derby defeat so soon.

Most of them were in agreement that watching the youngsters would be more enjoyable than enduring performances like the one at Wembley:

Considering the u18s’ consistently impressive performances recently, I can’t say I blame  supporters.

The young side only have Chelsea ahead of them in the u18 Premier League right now. Plus they’ve also made it to the FA Youth Cup Quarter-Final, where they’ll face Reading again.

Hopefully they can keep it up, and at least they’re giving fans some positive vibes for the future in the meantime.
