Arsenal’s u23s beat Dinamo Zagreb’s 2-1 in the Premier League International Cup on Saturday.

After finishing top of their Premier League International Cup group, which included Bayern, Porto and Reading, Arsenal’s u23s were given a home fixture in the next round against Zagreb.

Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah were all included in the line-up at Meadow Park, despite the teenage trio spending more time with Arsenal’s first team this season.

Willock was the first to score in the 27th minute after Zagreb’s goalkeeper had previously denied Eddie. The midfielder is having a strong season, having scored once and assisted four in 10 Premier League 2 appearances.

The 18-year-old has also made eight appearances for Arsenal’s first team this term.

Miklic Borna then leveled the score in the 76th before Josh Dasilva made it 2-1 in the dying minutes of the clash.

The win means Arsenal’s u23s go through to the final four of the Premier League International Cup.

The Young Guns will face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Liverpool and Porto.

Manchester United face Villarreal’s youngsters on Tuesday 27 February; Liverpool play Porto on Wednesday 28 February and Sunderland’s u23s play Newcastle’s on Wednesday 7 March.

The u23s’ next match is against Chelsea on Friday 2 March.
