Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas isn’t worried about having competition for his starting place.

Navas is currently Real Madrid’s first choice goalkeeper but might not be for much longer.

Madrid are being linked with a move for Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois. If they sign the Belgian, Navas would surely find himself on the bench.

However, the prospect isn’t worrying the Costa Rican.

“I don’t know if the club doubts me, but I have a contract,” he told AS.

“If they sign a goalkeeper in the future and let me compete, I won’t mind. It doesn’t intimidate me.”

Arsenal have been linked with Navas in the past as he could be a replacement for Petr Cech.

Cech has had an error-prone season and is no longer playing at his best.

Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, Stoke City’s Jack Butland and Barcelona’s Jasper Cillessen have also been linked.

Between Cech’s declining form and the unreliable David Ospina, a goalkeeper should be Arsenal’s priority in the summer transfer window.

With everyone knowing it’s a problem position, there’s bound to several names mentioned between now and the summer window.

Navas has been a very good in Spain for a few years now, but it seems Madrid see an opportunity to upgrade.

That, in turn, could give Arsenal the opportunity to do the same.
