Arsenal fans can’t decide whether they’re happy or annoyed that Petr Cech, Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck could all be fit for the Gunners’ clash against Spurs on Saturday.

Earlier in the week, it was reported by the Telegraph that while Arsenal were hopeful that Monreal and Cech would be fit, the chances were the goalkeeper would be short.

Therefore, when James Olley from the Evening Standard said the 35-year-old could be involved after all, the news wasn’t entirely expected.

While outlets like the Daily Star are describing the possibility of having all three players back in the squad as a ‘boost’, some Arsenal fans aren’t so sure.

Well, about two of the players anyway.

Fans love Monreal so even though we knew he would probably have shaken off the illness that forced Arsene Wenger to take him off at half time against Everton, it’s still a relief that he’s ready.

Cech, however, hasn’t been in the best form and neither has Welbeck. Although, I don’t see Welbz starting ahead of anyone in the Gunners’ current attacking line-up.

Cech, if fully recovered from the kick he received to his calf against the Toffees, will almost certainly start but it’s either him or David Ospina.

For those Gooners cursing the news that the ex-Chelsea man might be able to face Spurs after all, be careful what you wish for…
