Spurs’ new winger Lucas Moura played quite well during his side’s 2-2 draw against Rochdale so naturally he’s now talking about winning the Champions League.

Lucas signed for Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain for £25m in January and so far Tottenham fans seem pretty impressed – he did score against Rochdale in the FA Cup after all.

It seems all the success is already going to the Brazilian’s head though because he’s talking about making history and winning the Champions League with Spurs.

“It’s always important to win. Every player wants to win trophies, to make history and I am here to make history with my new friends, my new team-mates,” the forward said, reports the Mirror.

“I believe that because we have a lot of quality, a great structure – I am really impressed – and I think we can dream with the Champions League.

“Why not? The Champions League is the most difficult Cup but I think we have the capacity to win it.

“I am 25-year-old but I think I won a lot of experience with PSG and I think I can help Tottenham. I think we have a lot of quality and a great structure and I think we can arrive at the end of the season with a trophy.

“If you always think in positives, always work hard. I think we did a big game against Juventus away. I am so happy with my new team.”

Granted, Mauricio Pochettino’s side did well to draw 2-2 against Juventus. A game Lucas featured in for one minute. They probably could have won the match and, as much as it pains me to say it, they looked good.

Looking good in a draw against the Old Lady, however, does not a Champions League-winning team make.

At the moment, Spurs have far more pressing matters at hands, like winning their replay against League One side Rochdale.

As you can imagine, Arsenal fans, football fans in general and… well… humanity as a whole have all been laughing at Lucas’ comments. Since he only came over from Ligue 1 last month, many are assuming he doesn’t really understand what he’s just said.
