Wojciech Szczesny’s agent Jonathan Barnett has praised Juventus for spotting the keeper’s ability and buying him for cheap.

Arsenal allowed Szczesny to leave for a modest transfer fee in the summer, and have regretted it ever since.

Our former goalkeeper is having a fine year at Juventus while filling in for Gianluigi Buffon.

He’s not the first choice there yet, but his agent, Jonathan Barnett, says that the Polish international is loving life in Italy.

As if to rub salt into the wounds, he also called his move to Juventus an “incredible deal”.

“Szczesny loves Juventus, their fans, and has an extraordinary relationship with Buffon,” he told Claciomercato.

“If Buffons renews, it’s no problem for us.

“Juventus have done an incredible deal signing Szczesny at that price (around £13m, inc. bonuses). They were quick to understand his enormous potential before anyone.

“You’ll see: Wojciech will be one of the best keepers in the world.”

Arsenal must have known about Szczesny’s ability as well, but decided to let him go.

They had faith that Petr Cech was just as good, if not better, and would remain number one.

Naturally, Cech picked this season to decline rapidly and lose his form.

The club now look rather stupid for letting Szczesny go, as he would be perfect right about now.

They’ll now hopefully be looking for a new keeper in the summer, something they wouldn’t have to do had they kept Szczesny at the club.

There have been some strange decisions taken by the club, and this ranks nears the very top.
