Wilfried Zaha has seemingly ended speculation about his future by claiming that he’s staying at Crystal Palace this season.

Zaha had been linked with a big move to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. However, his comments after Crystal Palace’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Sunday suggest he’s not going anywhere.

When asked if he would be staying at Palace, he said: “Yep, I am.” Zaha has been a key player for Palace during their run of improved results. Some reports suggested Arsene Wenger had identified him as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal could still be interested and may test Palace’s will with a big offer this month. However, it’s likely the Eagles want to keep hold of their star player while they’re fighting relegation. The Gunners don’t want to lose Alexis either if they can help it.

Fortunately, Arsenal should have other targets in mind when the eventuality does come next summer, although it remains to be seen if Alexis Sanchez leaves during the January transfer window or not, with Manchester City still being mentioned as suitors.

If so, there are plenty of attackers around for Arsenal to try and sign. While Zaha seems to be finding more consistency for Palace, he’s not necessarily the best option around, in my opinion.
