Arsenal are unbeaten in the last 19 Premier League 3pm Saturday kick-offs at home, but what’s their record like in other kick-off times, home and away this season?

Barriesview.com report that it’s 20 matches since Arsenal last lost at home in a 3pm kick-off.

It makes sense, in all honesty.

After all, if a match is at 3pm, it’s not televised. By extension, it probably isn’t against one of the big-six clubs.

We’ve had a look at the other times Arsenal have played matches this season, and the Gunners record in each one.

Here are the results for 2017/18:

1. Monday

  • 20:00 – 1 played, 1 win

2. Tuesday

  • 19:45 – 2 played, 2 wins

3. Wednesday

  • 19:45 – 3 played, 2 wins, 1 draw
  • 20:00 – 3 played, 1 win, 2 draws

4. Thursday

  • 18:00 – 3 played, 2 wins, 1 defeat
  • 20:00 – 1 played 1 win
  • 20:05 – 3 played, 2 wins, 1 draw

5. Friday

  • 19:45 – 2 played, 1 win, 1 draw

6. Saturday

  • 12:30 – 1 played, 1 win
  • 15:00 – 4 played, 4 wins
  • 17:30 – 3 played, 3 defeats

7. Sunday

  • 12:00 – 2 played, 1 win, 1 draw
  • 13:30 – 3 played, 1 win, 1 draw, 1 defeat
  • 14:00 – 2 played, 2 wins
  • 14:15 – 1 played, 1 defeat
  • 16:00 – 2 played, 2 defeats
  • 16:30 – 1 played, 1 draw

As you can see, Monday and Tuesday are clearly the best days of the week, as they’re the only ones with 100% records.

Wednesday and Friday are both unbeaten, but also have as many draws as wins.

By comparison, Thursday has more wins than both put together, but that one defeat by FC Köln takes the shine off.

Saturday is a very mixed bag. The 3pm kick-offs, as mentioned, are fantastic. The team have won all four of those. The Gunners also have an 100% record in the early kick-offs.

Unfortunately, the 17:30 kick-offs are the complete reverse. Defeats against Watford, Manchester United and Stoke are all Arsenal have to show for their Saturday evenings.

By far the most popular day this season is Sunday. Thanks to Arsenal’s participation in Europa League matches on Thursdays, the Premier League often have to push matches to the end of the week.

Matches at 2pm or earlier on Sunday generally go pretty well. Arsenal have won four, drawn two and lost one of those.

After 2pm the Gunners haven’t won a single match, with three losses and a draw.

That’s an appalling weekend record of one point from 21 available in matches that kicked-off after 5pm on a Saturday and after 2.15pm on a Sunday.

What’s next?

Arsenal face Swansea on Tuesday at 19:45, so hopefully they can keep their 100% Tuesday record going.

Then it’s the dreaded 17:30 on Saturday against Everton. Hopefully the Gunners can finally get their first win in that one and turn things round.

The next completely new kick-off time for this season is on March 1st. Arsenal play Manchester City on Thursday at 19:45, a match which was postponed thanks to the League Cup final.

It’d be nice to kick it off with a win!
