Olivier Giroud, Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil all found the back of the net in 2017, but what were Arsenal’s top five goals?

Despite some stinking performances this year, Arsenal have still managed to score some worldies.

There was Ozil’s against Stoke, Lucas Perez’s against Bournemouth and Granit Xhaka’s (and Ozil’s again) against Liverpool. But we couldn’t pick them all.

Here are Arsenal’s top five goals from 2017:

5. May 27: Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal v Chelsea – FA Cup final

Rambo netted the winner at Wembley for the second time back in May.

Chelsea may have won the title last season but the Gunners really turned up for their final clash of the campaign and we weren’t handing our trophy over to our rivals without a fight.

Alexis Sanchez put Arsenal up with just minutes on the clock and Arsene Wenger’s side were on the front foot.

However, after Antonio Conte’s men had just been reduced to 10 following Victor Moses’ dive, it was Diego Costa, who had been bullied by Rob Holding the entire game, who brought the score level.

Almost immediately, Arsenal responded and hit Chelsea on the break with Olivier Giroud, who’d only been on the pitch a matter of seconds, delivering a perfect cross onto Rambo’s head.

The Welshman made no mistake in firing the ball into the net and winning Arsenal their 13th FA Cup.

4. December 16: Mesut Ozil – Arsenal v Newcastle – Premier League

It may have been the Gunners’ only goal of the game against the Magpies but what a goal it was.

A header backwards from Alexis Sanchez landed perfectly for Ozil to swing his left boot at and volley into the top left corner of Rob Elliot’s goal.

3. September 9: Alexandre Lacazette – Arsenal v Bournemouth – Premier League

Lacazette’s second goal in red and white came against Bournemouth during the Gunners 3-0 victory at the Emirates.

The Frenchman picked up the ball from Ozil, who was deep in midfield, before playing a one-two with Danny Welbeck and netting Arsenal’s second goal of the afternoon from outside the box.

2. October 1: Olivier Giroud – Red Star Belgrade v Arsenal – Europa League

Arsenal didn’t manage to find the back of the net until the 86th minute against Red Star but when we did, it was worth it.

Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Giroud combined with some chips and dinks before the France international netted an overhead kick.

1. January 1: Olivier Giroud – Arsenal v Crystal Palace – Premier League

Giroud’s scorpion kick against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day 2017 is still one of the best goals I’ve ever seen.

It even won FIFA’s Puskas award – it was THAT beautiful.
