Thierry Henry has made the ground-breaking discovery that Mesut Ozil’s ‘body language’ doesn’t actually mean anything!

The Sport Review have written the headline ‘Thierry Henry sends clear message to Arsenal fans about Mesut Ozil’ for their piece on the legend’s comments regarding Ozil’s body language.

However, the ex-forward isn’t actually telling the fans anything we don’t already know. It’s his fellow pundits he should be telling.

“The thing is, when you’re a player like Mesut Ozil, people always expect more – and they should because your supposed to be the guy who makes the team tick and win,” Henry said on Sky Sports.

“You expect him to put Arsenal on his back along with Alexis Sanchez.

“He has sometimes has a body language where he looks like he’s not trying. But that’s the way he plays, so you have to get on with it.

“When you are of that quality, people are going to talk about you after the game. When Arsenal are having a good game, he is having a good game usually.”

Anyone with eyes can tell how important Ozil is to Arsenal’s side. All you have to do is take one look at how we play without him – lik against West Brom for example.

Without the German on the pitch we lack creativity, drive and a certain cutting edge in the final third. He can see things that other midfielders can’t and he’s often the difference if we’re struggling to break a team down, which is around 95% of the time these days.

Ozil’s body language has always been languid but all you have to do is watch how much he runs to know that he’s not lazy at all. Even then, I feel like the 29-year-old’s ‘relaxed’ approach is often exaggerated by the media.

The playmaker has under six months left on his contract with Arsenal. Henry doesn’t have to tell Gooners twice that Ozil is a good player; we’re desperate for him to stay.
