Arsene Wenger has delivered the latest Arsenal team news ahead of the Gunners’ first League Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea on Wednesday.

After Arsenal’s humiliating early exit from the FA Cup at the hands (or feet) of Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Wenger’s men have everything to prove at Stamford Bridge. Whether they’ll actually do it or not is another matter. Especially without some of their key men in the squad.

As expected, Olivier Giroud (hamstring) is still sidelined until mid-January, Sead Kolasinac (ankle) is also out for a tad longer and Nacho Monreal (ankle) won’t be back in action until later this month either.

“We don’t recover anybody,” the boss revealed during his presser on Tuesday morning. “I believe that on Sunday we paid the price a little bit of having many injured players. Some needed to be rested.”

Shkodran Mustafi and Granit Xhaka (groin) both face late tests ahead of Chelsea but Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), who were thought to be back in action for the London derby, are still out.

It’s a shame because the Gunners appear to be dropping like flies. Once again. Right when we need them the most.

The second leg of the League Cup semi-final against Chelsea at the Emirates will take place on January 24. Therefore, if we do lose at Stamford Bridge, hopefully we can turn things around on home soil when more of our first team men are fighting fit.
