Ben Sheaf has joined League Two side Stevenage on loan for the remainder of the season.

Sheaf is a highly rated player at the club and will now be getting his first extended exposure to senior football.

Arsenal have confirmed that he will be at Stevenage for the rest of the season.

He will be joining them while they’re 15th in League Two, nine points off relegation and 12 off the play-off spots.

The 19-year-old can play in both midfield and in the defence.

He’s been frequently played as a centre back in the Arsenal u23 side, but made his debut for the first team in central midfield away to Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

This will be his first loan spell, and one that will him physically.

League Two is a tough league, with several teams who play direct football.

He joins in time for Stevenage’s trip to relegation threatened Chesterfield on Saturday.

He had started the season with an injury, but returned in October to make his first team debut and continue with the u23s.
