Arsenal get their FA Cup defence underway with a trip to Championship side Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The FA Cup is back and Arsenal will kick-off their defence of the trophy at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.

The two sides met in the League Cup last season, where Arsenal ran out 4-0 winners thanks to goals from Granit Xhaka, Lucas Perez (two) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal’s record against lower league opposition in this competition has been impeccable since Blackburn knocked us out in 2013.

At risk of underestimating the FA Cup’s magic, Arsenal should continue that good run at Nottingham Forest’s expense.

They currently sit 14th in the Championship, having won just once in their last eight games.

Such a run cost manager Mark Warburton his job. Gary Brazil is currently serving as interim manager.

Their squad is short on Premier League experience, but does contain former Arsenal left back Armand Traore.

Ben Brereton is also an exciting young centre forward.

Arsenal are expected to rotate much of their starting eleven for this one.

David Ospina, Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Debuchy, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott are expected to come in for their usual cup outing.

There could also be starts for youngsters Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock. Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Eddie Nketiah will be in contention as well.

Questions remain over whether Wenger will play with a back four or back three, and how he juggles his defence.

Rob Holding and Calum Chambers would usually play, but may be needed for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Similarly, Ainsley Maitland-Niles may be needed at left back.

Arsenal should be able to negotiate this tie without many major scares, but then, this is the FA Cup.

Our luck in this competition is bound to run-out at some point.
