Marcus McGuane is set to join Barcelona’s youth side.

McGuane, who’s been at Arsenal his entire career, looks set for a move to Spain – to Barcelona B to be exact.

According to Kike Marin, the midfielder should complete his transfer soon.

The 18-year-old made his first team debut for the Gunners this season – 11 minutes against BATE Borisov in the Europa League back in September.

He also got another minute under his belt against Red Star Belgrade the following month but remained on the bench for the next clash at the Emirates.

McGuane has featured nine times for Arsenal’s u23s this season, scoring twice in that time.

The teenager’s move to Barcelona B is presumably just on loan until the end of the season but I’m sure more details will emerge as a deal edges closer.

Although Kike Marin isn’t exactly David Ornstein when it comes to Arsenal gossip, I’d say this rumour is likely. It’s hardly outlandish and McGuane needs more game time.

It’ll be interesting to see whether this does turn into a permanent move, seeing as more and more youngsters are moving abroad in order to fast-track their career. It could be a massive opportunity for him.
