Arsenal are looking to close the gap at the top of the Premier League 2 table as they travel to league leaders Liverpool.

The u23s currently sit third in the Premier League 2, seven points behind Liverpool and five behind Leicester in second.

Their visit to Prenton Park will see them play a Liverpool side who have won 10 of their 13 matches so far.

With Arsenal playing in the FA Cup on Sunday, the u23s could be without key players such as Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah.

However, they should be able to call upon Jordi Osei-Tutu, who has two goals in his last two games.

Captain Julio Pleguezuelo should also feature in defence, while Vlad Dragomir, who has four goals in 11 games, could star in midfield.

The two sides last met at Meadow Park back in August.

Nelson gave Arsenal the lead early in the second half, but an equaliser from Rhian Brewster and a late goal from Sam Hart gave the visitors the win.

Liverpool will be able to call upon a number of their key players, including Brewster and top scorer Harry Wilson.

Wilson has nine goals in 10 games, and will be a threat to Arsenal’s typically shaky defence.
