Leonardo Jardim says he would keep Thomas Lemar for a decade, but admitted that there are some offers Monaco can’t refuse.

Lemar remains the subject of transfer speculation, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all reported to be interested.

A key player for Monaco, manager Leonardo Jardim is understandably reluctant to let him go.

However, he knows that the transfer market is crazy at the moment, and that there are some offers Monaco can’t refuse.

“If I stay at Monaco for ten years, I would like to keep Thomas Lemar for ten years,” he said, as reported by L’Equipe.

“But you have seen the madness of the market. A club like Monaco can not refuse certain offers.”

Monaco proved during the summer that if offered enough money, they’ll sell anyone.

Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva and Kylian Mbappe were just three of the players they sold for huge figures.

So should someone come along and offer £90m or more for Lemar, they’ll definitely consider it.

Lemar was Arsenal’s first choice replacement for Alexis Sanchez in the summer.

That seems to have changed this month, with Bordeaux winger Malcom now being our priority, according to the BBC although Arsene Wenger has denied there has been any contact about him

If Arsenal have moved on, it could suggest that they feel Lemar isn’t obtainable this month, or that they can’t/don’t want to pay such a high fee.
