Arsene Wenger feels Arsenal have been unfairly singled out by the media despite actually winning silverware, compared to those who don’t win trophies but get better treatment from the press.

No matter what Arsenal win, the media will always be on their back. That’s the view of Wenger, who feels his team continue to get a rough ride despite winning more trophies than certain others teams in the Premier League.

“Look, we have been in a few finals,” Wenger said in his pre-Chelsea press conference. “Has it changed your mood? No.

“You celebrate some teams who have not been in a final for 25 years and yet you kill us even though we’ve won the FA Cup three times in the last four years. It’s like that, we have to live with that.”

Unfortunately, the FA Cup was only a temporary reprieve from the overall problems. When the team is down in sixth in the Premier League and struggling to keep up with their rivals, it’s going to be criticised.

At the same time, Arsenal can at least claim that have won more silverware than Liverpool and Tottenham, two of the “celebrated” teams Wenger may be referring to.

The Gunners have a chance to reach another Wembley final when they play Chelsea in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. The tie is finely balanced at 0-0.

It’s been seven years since we last made the final of this competition. Back then, we somehow lost to Birmingham City. Should Arsenal reach the final, they will almost certainly be underdogs, as they’d be playing Manchester City.
