Arsenal legend, Martin Keown, reckons the Gunners have signed a brilliant player in Henrikh Mkhitaryan and has tipped Arsene Wenger to get the best out of the playmaker now he’s in north London.

Read on to find out how Martin Keown annoyed Manchester United fans hilariously…

After failing in 2016, Arsenal have finally managed to sign Mkhitaryan and Keown believes the 29-year-old could turn out to be a ‘pot of gold’ for the Gunners.

“Arsene Wenger may have been handed a pot of gold in Mkhitaryan. Wenger will definitely get the best from him,” Keown said in his weekly ‘Tackle Keown’ segment for the Daily Mail.

“Wenger seems to create a different environment to Jose Mourinho. Watching Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw for Manchester United recently, I felt sorry for them. They did not appreciate Mourinho’s style.

“Wenger will focus on what Mkhitaryan can do. The player will be coming in with a point to prove.

“Mourinho does not always get it right with players. Look at Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah. They have been two of the best players in the Premier League this season and both were let go by Mourinho at Chelsea.

“Mkhitaryan is coming in with a point to prove and if he can make it work, this will have been a successful transfer window for Wenger.”

Alexis Sanchez went the other way to Manchester United and while the Chilean has already made his debut for his new club (against Yeovil in the FA Cup on Friday when he was hailed like he’d scored six against Barca for his one-and-a-half assists), Arsenal fans won’t get to see Mkhi in action until the Swansea match on Tuesday.

“I haven’t decided that yet (whether he play), I will certainly decide that on Monday, but he is available like everybody else,” Wenger said during his presser on Friday morning.

Although the Armenian only provided 13 goals and 11 assists in 63 appearances for United, his final season for Dortmund (2015/16) was nothing short of mind-boggling.

The playmaker managed 23 goals and 32 assists in 52 appearances.

If Wenger can help him return to his Bundesliga form, Arsenal could be laughing.

Keowned

Meanwhile, Keown’s been out there doing God’s work by annoying United fans.

Not only was the pundit talking up Mkhi but he laid into Alexis repeatedly during his first 71 minutes for the Red Devils while on co-comms with the BBC for Friday’s night’s FA Cup clash at Huish Park.

The former centre-back managed to get United fans all worked up by criticising pretty much everything the 29-year-old did.

It was brilliant.

It’s fine though because even though Alexis gave the ball away 20 (!) times in the first half, he managed one-and-a-half assists and a man-of-the-match award (in United’s second string team against Yeovil), while Barney Ronay hailed his ‘small acts of genius.’
