Juventus are reportedly targeting Jack Wilshere for a surprising January transfer, as his Arsenal contract talks seems far from being finalised.

The Sun claim the Italian champions want to sign the 26-year-old this month. Juventus are reportedly trying to take advantage of the midfielder’s uncertain contract situation.

Wilshere is currently in talks with Arsenal over an extension. His old deal expires this summer, so this is the club’s final chance to get him tied down.

Due to his injury problems, the Gunners offered the Hale End Academy graduate a reduced basic wage last week, but with higher performance-related add-ons.

So far we don’t know what Wilshere makes of the deal. Other than the fact he hasn’t signed it yet, neither the club nor the player have revealed anything publicly.

If he is having doubts, then that would be the perfect time for Juventus to swoop in. Fellow academy man Wojciech Szczesny moved from Arsenal to the Old Lady over the summer.

The two players always seemed close during their days in North London, so that might sway Wilshere. In my opinion, the midfielder will sign with the Gunners, he just needs time to agree the details.

I think he cares too much about Arsenal to leave now. Then again, I would’ve said the same about Szczesny.
