Louis Saha says it’s disappointing to see Henrikh Mkhitaryan leave Manchester United, as the 29-year-old could be great for Arsenal.

If all goes well in his medical, Mkhitaryan will join Arsenal in a player swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.

Former United striker, Saha, gave his thoughts on the swap, telling Goal“[Mkhitaryan’s] a great player, for sure. Of course, if he leaves this early, it would be a disappointment because he has huge potential. One would love to play with that kind of player.

“Sometimes there are things outside football or inside the head of the player. But Henrikh himself has done very well. It’s a situation where it’s hard to comment more.”

This season, Mkhitaryan has really struggled to find game time, especially as the season’s gone on. For the first 11 league games, he appeared in every match, although never for 90 minutes.

In the 13 league games after that, the Armenian started once, and made three substitute appearances. It was a similar story in the Champions League, where he started three matches, came off the bench in the fourth, then wasn’t even part of the squad for the last two.

Overall, Mourinho gave Mkhitaryan a full 90 minutes on just two occasions this season.

No wonder the former Dortmund man is finding it difficult to put a run together.

Nonetheless, he has two goals and six assists this season, not a bad haul from 16 starts.

Arsenal are definitely getting a player with talent, they just need to figure out how to tap into it as quickly as possible.

If they do, Manchester United may end up ruing letting him go.
