Arsenal could reportedly sign German keeper Timo Horn for just £4.5m if Cologne are relegated from the Bundesliga this season.

Horn is the first-choice keeper for the struggling top flight side, and has had a tough season. Cologne are languishing at the bottom of the Bundesliga, with just nine points from 18 games. There’s a good chance that they’ll be relegated this season.

In which case, Arsenal could benefit. According to The S*n, Horn will able to leave Cologne for just £4.5m if they’re relegated.

The 24-year-old came through the ranks at Cologne and has been the first-choice keeper since 2012. He’s one of the highest rated keepers in Germany despite Cologne’s struggles this season.

£4.5m would be an insanely low price for a good goalkeeper. Arsenal are in need of a new shot-stopper as Petr Cech’s form is declining. With a number of mistakes creeping into his game, the Gunners have no keeper who can replace him.

David Ospina has proven to be erratic and unable to hold down a first-team place. Emi Martinez, the third choice, has struggled for game time at Getafe.

Wojciech Szczesny wasn’t given a chance to return in the summer, having been sold to Juventus after finishing a two-year loan spell with AS Roma.

Horn could be a good option for Arsenal in the summer if they can’t find a top class keeper at a good price.
