Olivier Giroud has agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a potential move, but a fee must still be agreed, according to L’Equipe.

Giroud has found himself at the centre of a transfer gridlock in which his next move could determine the outcome of a number of deals.

The 31-year-old is a target for Chelsea, who are looking for a striker to replace Michy Batshuayi.

Batshuayi could then move to Borussia Dortmund, thus allowing Arsenal to finalise the deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to the January 30th edition of L’Equipe, Chelsea and Giroud already have a ‘contractual agreement’.

Giroud is reportedly keen to stay in London, hence why he might not make the move to Dortmund.

The problem now is that Arsenal and Chelsea have yet to agree a fee.

Arsenal are said to be looking for at least £30m for the striker, something Chelsea may be reluctant to pay.

Chelsea have been targeting just about every tall striker in the Premier League this window, from Andy Carroll to Peter Crouch.

In an ideal world, Giroud would move to Dortmund and Chelsea would be left to do what they want.

As it is, we may have to come down on our demands to ensure that all these deals go through and not end the window empty handed.

Monaco are said to have made a late approach for Giroud but the chances are this is just a media plant to drive his price up.
