Arsenal are reportedly set to send Olivier Giroud out on loan to Borussia Dortmund if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs for the Gunners.

According to German outlet Kicker, Arsenal could loan Dortmund Giroud in order to sweeten the deal for Aubameyang.

The 31-year-old has struggled for game time in north London. He’s only made one Premier League start so far. Therefore, a move to a Bundesliga team that will genuinely need a striker for the rest of the season could do the France international the world of good ahead of the World Cup this summer.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang’s relationship with the German club appears to be going from bad to worse.

The 28-year-old was left out of Dortmund’s clash against Hertha with sporting director Michael Zorc saying that he hoped it would help the striker focus.

While the match, which ended 1-1, was being played, Aubameyang was pictured playing indoor football in Ousmane Dembele’s old Dortmund shirt.

Dembele forced a move to Barcelona over the summer, causing unrest among the Dortmund squad.

Aubameyang wearing a shirt with the 20-year-old’s name on the back seems like a massive statement. I highly doubt it was a coincidence.

The day after Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed Arsenal’s interest, the media spotted Huss Fahmy, Sven Mislintat and Ivan Gazidis in Dortmund ahead of the possible move.

The striker’s car appears to be parked in the background, indicating that he was probably at the meeting.

Dortmund are allegedly asking for £60m. They confirmed that no agreement had been reached after Sunday’s meeting.
