Jan Aage Fjortoft’s “normally reliable” sources tell him Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will move to Arsenal, as the Gunners look to replace Manchester United-bound Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal could be looking to sign Aubameyang if and when Alexis Sanchez leaves the club this month. There’s a healthy amount of incredulity about the move, but Bundesliga pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft believes it could really happen.

At least, that’s what his source is telling him.

We have no idea if Fjortoft’s source is as reliable as he says he is. What we do know is that, according to the BBC’s David Ornstein, we do want to sign the player.

Aubameyang’s situation at Dortmund is far from ideal. The striker was left out of their Bundesliga game against Wolfsburg on the weekend for failing to show up to a meeting.

It was the second time this season that he was suspended due to disciplinary reasons. We’re yet to see if Dortmund would be willing to sell this month or not.

Any deal will depend on Alexis Sanchez leaving the club first, and until that happens, it’s not worth getting too excited about his replacement.
