Borussia Dortmund could turn their attention back to Olivier Giroud, which would be fantastic news for Arsenal as they look to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to Kicker, Dortmund could end up signing Giroud from Arsenal as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s replacement after all. The Bundesliga club were originally linked with the 31-year-old when Arsenal first moved for Aubameyang.

It would be the perfect solution for both clubs, as the Frenchman isn’t getting any serious game time in north London and the German club need someone to replace their top goalscorer.

Chelsea then came in with a late approach for Giroud, who wants to stay in London, and Dortmund began looking at taking Michy Batshuayi on loan instead.

The Gunners allegedly asked for £30m-£35m for Giroud, who has 18 months left on his contract at Arsenal. Chelsea had a good laugh and turned their attention to Spurs’ Fernando Llorente.

This reportedly leaves Giroud in between clubs and Dortmund reluctant to sanction Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal.

However, Kicker say the striker could still move to Dortmund. Aubameyang is almost definitely signing for Arsenal, manager Peter Stöger needs someone to replace him and Giroud wants playing time. It could be a match made in heaven.

Kicker claim the decision will be made today, which makes sense considering the window shuts tomorrow, so watch this space.
