Arsenal should field a much changed side against Nottingham Forest from the one on that faced Chelsea, after Arsene Wenger confirmed he’ll rotate the team.

Wenger will make at least one change, after Granit Xhaka picked up a groin injury against Chelsea.

As well as that, Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), Sead Kolasinac (knee), Aaron Ramsey (hamstring), Nacho Monreal (ankle) and Olivier Giroud (hamstring) are all still out.

It’s hard to predict what formation Arsenal go with at the weekend. The Gunners used a 3-4-2-1 against Chelsea, and a 4-2-3-1 against Liverpool just before Christmas.

However, I’m going to guess that Wenger will opt for a 4-3-3. That’s because he has so many defensive injuries to deal with, and partly because that’s what he used in the last cup game against West Ham.

Francis Coquelin, Joe Willock and Mohamed Elneny should all come into midfield, as they did against the Hammers. I’d expect Jack Wilshere to get a well-earned rest after three games in a week.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has no time to rest, however. Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal are out, so he’s the only left-back option.

Per Mertesacker should return after Wenger left him on the bench in midweek. Alongside him, I’m going to guess Rob Holding, because he’s only played one game over the Christmas period.

Mathieu Debuchy should start at right-back.

Giroud is unavailable, so Danny Welbeck is the most likely replacement up front.

Walcott is still available on the right, and Iwobi should come in on the left.

At least I hope so, because I think the Nigerian international is much better on that side.

David Ospina will come in for Petr Cech in goal, whether you like it or not.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ospina; Debuchy, Holding, Mertesacker, Maitland-Niles; Coquelin, Elneny, Willock; Walcott, Welbeck, Iwobi.
