Arsenal are competing with Chelsea for Rochdale’s teenage midfielder Daniel Adshead, according to ESPN.

Adshead is a 16-year-old midfielder currently playing for Rochdale in League One.

He’s said to be the latest exciting talent to emerge from the Football League, and already has the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea tracking him.

That’s according to ESPN, who report that the two clubs have known about the midfielder for some time.

He was 14-years-old when he started training with the Rochdale first team during school holidays.

Arsenal and Chelsea are two of the most proactive clubs when it comes to signing talent from the Football League.

Both are aware that it’s a very good source of talented players that can go ignored by other clubs.

Given his tender age, a move to one of the biggest clubs in England this season may be too early.

He’s already made eight appearances in the Rochdale first team this season, and might be better off staying put for now.

On the other hand, if he’s as talented as believed, Arsenal may just have to sign him to beat out the competition.
