Antonio Conte says Alexis Sanchez is available for around £20m this January, and claims buying the Chilean would be a ‘good investment’.

Manchester City are still favourites to land the Chilean this January, but the media are now linking Chelsea and Manchester United as well.

Conte spoke to reporters ahead of the Blues’ match against Leicester City. They asked him what he thought of the Chilean’s current situation, and the possibility of buying the forward.

“It is a good investment,” said the Chelsea manager.

“We are talking about a top player and you can buy him for a price that is not so high. The amount is around £20m.

“Maybe a normal price for Alexis Sanchez is £80-90m.

“In the past, Manchester City have shown if they want to take a player they go and buy this player.

“If Manchester City wants Alexis Sanchez they buy Alexis Sanchez. They don’t have a problem about this money or this investment.

“He’s a great player and he knows very well in my first season in Juventus we tried to buy him from Udinese and then he decided to go to Barcelona.

“He knows well my admiration for him.”

From the sounds of things, Conte is hoping a charm offensive might sway Sanchez away from City.

He’s not the only one trying those sorts of tactics, as City are doing exactly the same thing.

Kevin De Bruyne even openly talked about the impact the 29-year-old will have on City “when” he joins.

Never mind that Alexis is currently an Arsenal player. It seems they’re now all free to talk about him joining other clubs as much as they want.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Conte’s interest in the former Barcelona man is anything more substantial.

If so, the Gunners could try and spark a bidding war between Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Sanchez seems to have already decided his destination though, which doesn’t help.
