Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to get his work permit updated today in order to finally complete his move to Manchester United.

Although Alexis has agreed personal terms with United and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is all set to move to Arsenal as part of the swap deal, the transfer can’t be finalised until Alexis has updated his work permit.

According to Manchester-based photographer, Craig Norwood, the Chilean is set to travel out of Manchester, where he flew (or drove) this weekend, to fill out the paper work.

This is apparently the only thing holding up the deal but it’ll supposedly be completed today (Monday).

Sky Sports’ Simon Stone reports that the 29-year-old has to leave Manchester to do this because there’s no office there.

The closest office to Manchester is apparently Liverpool.

Alexis has already been spotted wearing a United shirt, so it’s likely that the club are ready to make their announcement as soon as they get the go-ahead.

Meanwhile, Mkhitaryan’s work permit has apparently been ratified and the Armenian is ready to complete his move to Arsenal.

The playmaker has been celebrating his 29th birthday after being pictured in London with his agent Mino Raiola at the weekend.

It feels as if it’s only a matter of time before both announcements are made.
