Adebayo Akinfenwa joked that he’s hoping Arsenal, Wycombe Wanderers and Atletico Madrid broker a deal to bring him, Antoine Griezmann and Alexandre Lacazette together.

The trio were all in attendance at the NBA London Game this week, at the O2 arena.

Akinfenwa posted a picture with the French stars on Instagram, along with the transfer rumour as a caption:

The Wycombe Wanderers star might just be dreaming a little.

I can completely see Arsenal signing a 35-year-old League Two player, but Griezmann? Not going to happen.

The 26-year-old told the media last November that the Gunners kept him waiting back in 2013, so he’s already burned his bridges with the North London club.

Fortunately for Akinfenwa, he’s now got the chance to play alongside an Arsenal player.

Young Tafari Moore completed a loan move to the club on Friday. In fact, the two lined up together in Saturday’s match against Colchester United. That’s probably the best the striker can hope for though, in all honesty.

Then again, things got off to a good start for the pair as the Wycombe man only took 14 minutes to open the scoring that game.

If Arsenal scouts were in attendance watching Moore’s progress, who knows?
