Arsenal are experiencing their worst season for five years.

The Gunners have only won 11 Premier League games so far this season. The last time we had won this few games at this stage in the season (matchday 23) was 2012/13 when we had only won 10.

This gives us a win percentage of just 48%, which means we’re losing or drawing more often than we’re winning.

Over the past six games, we’ve only won twice.

The difference was, back in 2012/13, there was always the feeling that we could improve.

We were still experiencing a financial hangover from moving to the Emirates and we still believed it’s always darkest before the dawn.

We ended up finishing third and Mesut Ozil joined us for £42.5m in the summer.

The following season, we won the FA Cup, our first trophy since 2005. Then we signed Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

This time, it feels different. Like this is a pivotal moment in the history of the club but with Arsene Wenger insisting he’s staying, it’s hard to be optimistic.

Arsenal are eight points off a Champions League spot and considering how we’re playing, we don’t look as if we’re going to trouble anybody above us.

Symbolically, Ozil – the man who took a chance on us back in 2013 – could actually be leaving this season. And you can’t even blame him.

We’re a mess and there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club that no one appears to have the faintest clue what’s going on.

Therefore, while we’re still not actually doing quite as bad in terms of win percentage as we were in 2012/13, it feels worse.
