Arsenal are looking for two league away wins in a row for the first time this season as they take on struggling West Brom.

The Gunners managed just their third win on the road in the Premier League this season when they beat Crystal Palace 3-2.

There’s been something about travelling that has turned the team into an inefficient, error-prone mess. More so than usual, in any case.

But the performance on Thursday did suggest the attack was starting to click again.

They’ll need that same cohesion on Sunday when they travel to the Hawthorns to play West Brom.

The Baggies are 19th in the table and haven’t won a game since August, when they beat Accrington Stanley in the League Cup.

Their atrocious form saw Tony Pulis sacked and replaced by Alan Pardew, but their fortunes remain grim.

Still, that doesn’t mean they won’t be a threat to Arsenal on Sunday.

West Brom won this fixture last season thanks to two almost identical goals from corners.

They remain a threat at set-pieces and possess a number of very tall and aerially strong players such as Craig Dawson and Solomon Rondon.

We also know from experience that they can be one of the most stubborn bus parkers around.

Arsenal have yet to string together two consecutive away wins in the Premier League this season.

Conceding early and scoring goals have been the main issue away from home. The Palace game showed that the defence, no matter how it lines up, is still prone to lapses in concentration.

In a game where Arsenal are bound to have most of the ball, they’ll need to be a lot more focussed to avoid conceding a sloppy goal.

Arsene Wenger will have to decide if he wants to continue with a back three or opt for an extra attacker in a 4-2-3-1.

The switch against Palace seemed designed to combat their aerial threat.

With West Brom posing a similar problem, he may decide to stick with three centre backs.

West Brom are a side that are there for the taking. It’s just a matter of the team turning up with the right approach.

Hopefully, Alexis Sanchez will keep up his good form, while Alexandre Lacazette, who is without a goal in five games, will get a chance to get back on the scoresheet.
