Villarreal winger Samu Castillejo likes Arsenal, Barcelona and Napoli as potential future clubs, according to reports.

Calciomercato write that the Spanish u21 international would be interested in any of the three above clubs, after making a strong start to the La Liga season, scoring and creating five goals in nine appearances.

His form looks a big improvement on last year, when the young Spaniard only scored three goals and made five assists in 44 games. However, a muscle injury suffered by the 22-year-old in November has seen him make just one appearance since.

Arsenal have no great need for wide-players at the moment, with Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Özil, Jack Wilshere and Alex Iwobi all somewhat capable of operating on the flank.

That’s also including youngsters like Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah who can also take on the role. But with Wilshere, Alexis and Ozil having uncertain futures, Arsenal might look at potential replacements in the market.

Whether or not the Gunners would opt for a promising talent, rather than a tried and tested experienced forward, remains to be seen.

Arsene Wenger is known for his youth policy at Arsenal, but losing such a key player like Alexis in January or next summer might force the Gunners to think a little bigger.
