Serge Gnabry scored a wonder-goal against RB Leipzig on Saturday, as he opened his goalscoring account with his new club.

Gnabry scored his first goal of the season in the 52nd minute, putting Hoffenheim 2-0 up, but it was 10 minutes later that he really hit the headlines.

Picking up the ball in the centre-circle, Serge turned and aimed straight for goal, spotting the keeper off his line. The shot was inch-perfect, and sailed into the net for his second of the match.

Gnabry is currently on loan with Hoffenheim, joining the Bundesliga club on a temporary basis from Bayern Munich. The spell hadn’t been particularly successful to this point, with no goals in nine appearances and two different injuries ruling him out of another 14 matches. However, when the German is fit, in-form and motivated, he has the quality to produce moments of brilliance like this.

Fortunately, Arsenal don’t have to worry about the 22-year-old coming back to haunt them in person this season, as Hoffenheim have already been eliminated from the Europa League with a game left to play.

But with every stunning goal the winger scores, there will always be a hint of regret from the Arsenal fanbase that the Gunners failed to hold onto him. I suspect that will be the reaction of most fans to seeing this one go in.
