Arda Turan’s future at Barcelona will reportedly be decided in the ‘coming days’ as the 30-year-old strives for more game time.

Turan, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal since the summer, is allegedly pushing for a January move after failing to feature at all for Barcelona this term.

With the transfer window set to open on Monday, Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo, insist that the winger’s future will be decided in the ‘coming days’.

Notably, it is over three weeks since the Turkey international’s agent, Ahmed Bulut, claimed his future would be sorted in 15 days.

Despite paying Atletico Madrid €34m (£30m) for Turan back in 2015, the Catalan giants are now said to be willing to accept just €20m (£18m).

His wages are said to be too high for a player not starring regularly in the first team and they’re happy to offload him as soon as possible.

Following his move to Barca, Turan failed to replicate the success he enjoyed at Atletico under Diego Simeone. During his first season, he made just nine La Liga starts and last term he made 14.

Although the official line is that he was injured during September (back) and then from October to early December (metatarsal bone bruise), his agent’s obvious annoyance at his lack of playing time in between is quite telling.

Overall, Turan’s netted 15 goals and assisted 11 during his time in Catalonia. Therefore, he’s proven that he can contribute to the team when fit. However, I don’t think there are many Arsenal fans who see him as an adequate replacement for Mesut Ozil, as is being reported.

Besiktas have also been linked with a move for the winger, whose contract with Barca doesn’t expire until June 2020.
