Schalke midfielder, Leon Goretzka, has revealed that he’ll announce his future plans by January.

With the transfer window fast approaching, Goretzka, who’s been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, has finally broken his silence on the speculation and revealed that he’ll announce his future plans in January.

“I have to find out for myself what the next step should be,” he said.

“I have to consider a million things. I am a person who is very meticulous in such decisions. I play through all the scenarios. So I need time.

“There doesn’t exist a deadline, but I think we are in the final phase.

“The final decision will be made in January.”

The 22-year-old, who’s out of contract with Schalke at the end of the season, impressed for Germany at the Confederations Cup this summer, scoring three goals and providing an assist in four appearances.

The midfielder has gone on to enjoy a brilliant start to his Bundesliga season, netting four in 11 appearances.

Seeing as Goretzka has just six months left on his contract with Schalke, it’s now clear that he probably won’t be staying and he’s being linked with Europe’s top clubs. Arsenal are said to be looking to bring the young midfielder on board as a replacement for either Mesut Ozil, who’s allegedly reuniting with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, or Alexis Sanchez, who apparently can’t wait to join City.

Obviously, if any of the sides linked with a move for the German wait until summer, they can get him for free.

In August it was reported that Schalke, where he’s been since 2013, would let him go for £32m. I can’t see this fee having risen by much given that his time with them is ticking down.
