Theo Walcott has reportedly put contract talks with Arsenal on hold until the end of the season.

Theo’s contract with Arsenal runs out in June 2019 and although Arsene Wenger recently hinted that the club were working on deals behind the scenes, the 28-year-old has reportedly opted to wait a little longer until he signs da ting. Sigh.

The forward has been linked with moves to Everton, Southampton and West Ham recently, so this suggests that Theo potentiality wants to finish this season, see if his game time improves, and then weigh up his options.

Saying this, the Telegraph claim that Arsenal haven’t actually approached him about a new deal as he still has 18 months left and there are more pressing matters, like Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez, to worry about.

Despite staying (mostly) injury-free this season, Theo’s yet to make a single start in the Premier League and has only been brought on as a substitute three times. His other appearances have been confined to the Europa League and League Cup, where he’s scored four goals and provided three assists during the seven games he’s featured in.

While in the past most Gooners have wanted Theo to stay in north London and he’s been with us 11 years, it does feel as if his time at the club is drawing to a close.
