Arsenal could rely on the dreaded internal solutions should they lose both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

It would be incredible if Arsenal didn’t find replacements for their two star players next summer, but the possibility remains.

Arsenal do tend to replace outgoing first team players but the burden of having to replace two in an inflated market might prove too much.

Hence, it wouldn’t be surprising if Wenger turned to internal solutions.

For example, we know the manager is a big fan of Danny Welbeck.

He spoke highly of him after the Carabao Cup quarter-final win over West Ham, and does try to include him in the starting eleven.

He offers plenty of versatility and work rate like Alexis. Wenger has also relied on him in big games, such as the 0-0 draw against Chelsea earlier this season.

Another solution could be Jack Wilshere.

The midfielder has resurrected his Arsenal career this season and certainly has the good will of the fanbase.

Wenger is hoping the 25-year-old signs a new contract soon.

If Arsenal are unable to secure any of their targets in the summer, it could be these two who get the nod next season.

But while the two of them have proven to be good squad players, they do not possess the quality of Alexis or Ozil.

The club cannot rely on them to produce consistently every game, or really deliver during big occasions.

As such, I feel that Wenger must bring in replacements in the summer.

As much as he praises his own players, he’ll know that he can’t suffer such a huge decline in quality and have a good season afterwards.

He might not sign the right or best replacement out there, but he’ll get one.

Won’t he?
