Sead Kolasinac has been speaking about his best moments from 2017 and, as an Arsenal fan, I can’t help but feel a little underwhelmed.

Kolasinac has now been a Gunner for six months.

Therefore, when asked about his most memorable moments of 2017, his answer was… not what we expected.

“It’s been an exciting year,” Kolasinac told Arsenal Player.
“This was the year I joined Arsenal, which was exciting for me.
“In general, I think it’s been a very positive year.
“What’s most important is that you’re healthy, which I was over the course of the year. I hope that will be the same in 2018.

“I’m sure it was my best year at Schalke, too. I’m very satisfied with how things have gone here too, but I know there’s still more to achieve and that I have more potential.

“I hope that I can utilise that in 2018.

“Before I was here, I played in a 0-0 draw in the derby between Dortmund and Schalke. I cleared a shot off the line and that will stay in my memory.

“Also, 2017 was the year I got my first dog, who I have at home with me now.

“I’ve got a ridgeback and have had him for five months now.

“It’s a lot of fun with him. He’s called Vuk, which means Wolf in Bosnian. I think a wolf fits to me!”

We’re dog lovers at Daily Cannon but come on, we expect this kind of answer from Alexis Sanchez but not you, Sead!

Kolasinac joined Arsenal on a free from Schalke in June and has since gone on to feature in some huge matches.

The 24-year-old netted an equaliser against Chelsea in the Community Shield, forcing the tie to penalties, which Arsenal won. He featured in his first ever north London derby. He’s experienced 16 games in a new league in a different country.

I’m not taking anything away from his clearance against Dortmund. It was obviously a crucial moment for his team and there’s a reason it’s stuck in his mind.

However, the fact that he can only think of getting a dog when trying to think of his best moment since moving to north London pretty much sums up Arsenal’s season so far.

The Bosnia international hasn’t been bad for the Gunners since his move. He’s made 19 appearances across all competitions, scored three goals and assisted four.

He’s not fantastic at passing. However, he’s massive and it’s nice to have a bit of muscle on the pitch.

Though it would just be useful if he could make a goal line clearance for Arsenal once in a while…
