Real Madrid will make room for Alexis Sanchez by selling Lucas Vazquez, according to reports.

The Spanish press have once again linked Alexis Sanchez with a move to Real Madrid.

It always seems to be Don Balon who pushes the story and presents numerous scenarios about how a deal could happen.

Before, Alexis was seen as a replacement for Karim Benzema. Now, they’re reporting that he’s going to replace Lucas Vazquez, who Zinedine Zidane will sell to make room.

Vazquez has been Zidane’s super sub since he became manager of Madrid. No player has made more substitute appearances than he has. It’s a role he seems content to play.

Madrid have issues up front as Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are struggling for goals in La Liga.

If they see Alexis as a solution for that problem, then I’m sure Arsenal would welcome a bid, if only to prevent him from moving to Manchester City.

Alexis is out of contract in the summer, and rumours of him being sold in January are becoming more popular.

He hasn’t quite been at his best this season, but does have three goals in his last four games.
