Aaron Ramsey has officially been ruled out for Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Chelsea on January 3.

Ramsey pulled up with a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Southampton on December 10 and it was always suspected that the midfielder would be short for the Gunners’ clash against Chelsea. However, Arsene Wenger has now confirmed that the 27-year-old won’t be available.

Arsenal are noticeably lost without Rambo on the pitch so this is a huge blow, especially considering how strong Chelsea are in midfield. While Jack Wilshere can step in and help drive play, and Mesut Ozil can run around a lot and also create, the Wales international is the best all-round midfielder we have.

Rambo is due back on January 7. However, we all know that Arsenal players hardly ever return to action when Wenger says they will. Except for Olivier Giroud who’s a freak of nature.

It’s such a shame because, until this point, the injury-prone player has managed to remain fit. In fact, other than a minor calf injury at the beginning of August, the Welshman has been relatively injury-free. Therefore, this is bound to come as a personal blow to him as well.

Hopefully, he recovers as quickly as possible because we need him.
