Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly told Arsenal they can sign Julian Draxler in January for £40m.

The Sun claim PSG have told the Gunners they’ll let Draxler leave in the winter window for the right price. The media always link Arsenal with the German forward, so this shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. However, there are some signs the winger could be on the move.

Despite signing Kylian Mbappé and Neymar over the summer, Unai Emery regularly selected Draxler for the starting line-up at the start of the season. In recent weeks, the 24-year-old has only started three of their last seven league games.

Plus, he hasn’t completed 90 minutes in a single one of those matches. Even when Emery left Neymar out of the squad against Lille, Angel Di Maria came in to replace him.

The former Wolfsburg man has still started the last three Champions League matches for PSG, but the Ligue 1 side might consider a move if Arsenal meet the reported asking price of £40m.

Arsenal could lose Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil within the next couple of transfer windows, so a move for Draxler makes sense – he’s a regular starter for Germany and one of the top clubs in Europe.

Then again, if The Sun are the source of a report, it’s probably better not to get too excited.
