Arsène Wenger has revealed Shkodran Mustafi suffered a thigh injury against Manchester United and will miss tonight’s Europa League meeting with BATE Borisov.

Mustafi was taken out of the action early against United on Saturday, pulling up with an injury after the Gunners went 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes.

Despite the German international not featuring against BATE Borisov, it doesn’t appear he will be spending a long spell on the sidelines, as he could be back for Southampton at the weekend.

With the obvious exception of Santi Cazorla, it seems the Gunners will have all their players available for the upcoming matches.

December is going to be a very busy month with another eight matches still left to play. Arsenal do have a very large squad, but squad rotation will be key over the festive period to limit injuries.

In all honesty, it probably wasn’t very likely that Mustafi would play in the Europa League match, as he’s only appeared once in the competition so far this season.

There are plenty of alternatives available at the back. He should return in a matter of days too, so Arsene Wenger won’t be left with a selection headache.
