Olympique Marseille, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on West Bromwich Albion centre-forward Tyler Roberts.

Birmingham Mail write that the Gunners are interested in the forward, but face competition from Marseile. The Daily Mail say that West Brom are keen to keep the youngster, but his contract expires at the end of the season, so they may not have much say in the matter.

The 18-year-old, has been playing on loan with League One side Walsall this season. In his 15 appearances, Roberts has scored five goals and provided three assists.

That’s certainly not a bad return for such a young player in senior football. He continues to improve upon his form from last season too, having then scored four and assisted two in 11 starts for Shrewsbury Town.

Roberts’ good club form got him a call up to the Welsh u21s, and he scored on his debut against Switzerland back in September.

If Arsenal are interested, they would have to pay the Baggies compensation, since Roberts is still too young to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires.

The tribunal fee isn’t likely to be anywhere near what West Brom would charge if the striker was on a five-year deal, however. Either way, the Gunners have competition now, so they’ll need to make their decision quickly.
