Despite Arsenal insisting during the summer that Shkodran Mustafi is not for sale, Juventus are reportedly keen to sign him in January.

Although Juve have allegedly been eager to sign Mustafi for a while, during the summer they signed Schalke defender, Benedikt Howedes, instead.

However, the 29-year-old was sidelined at the end of November with a muscular problem and is expected to be out for a while. This is the third time the defender has picked up an injury since his move from the Bundesliga and it means that the Serie A giants reportedly want to sign Mustafi to bolster their squad.

Despite being linked with a move to fellow Italian side Inter Milan at the end of August, Mustafi’s shown no signs that he’s unhappy this term and has been playing well.

After only moving to north London 18 months ago, you have to imagine that he’s not going anywhere.

As well as being a top player for the Gunners this term – putting his performance against Manchester United side – he cost £35m when we signed him from Valencia. I find it hard to believe that Arsene Wenger would allow that kind of money to be coughed up for a centre-back just to sell him under two years later.
